Some nerd investments coming up

Well I am getting close to invest some money into a new PC. Now my old Dell Inspiron 9600 is 6 years old it is getting time for some upgrade. So I am looking at what to do and her what I decided uppon: I’ll get a Eee Box B202 with Linux on top. Yes, I am planning to get one of these smalll 1L PCs. Just for surfing, mailing, chatting and writing.
And then first thing to do: put a fedora on top instead of the default Linux it comes with. Why Fedora? Well they just had a new release of Fedora 12 and I want to try sth. new. Further it works with Moblin a UI developed for only the purposes I named before. Internet, mail and some texting.

Well I guess before I do the nerd shopping I’ll have to do some furniture IKEA shopping to get a desk to put the PC on…

Signing up for competition 2010

This month I started signing up for competitions in 2010. Things got expensive. So for now I will take part in the Kraichgau Challenge 2010. How much? 147EUR! No kidding!
Well what people do for what they are paissonate about. I was planning to sign up for Wiesbaden, too. But after looking at the price for each of the races I decided to pay for one this and for the other one next month. Beside the proud price of about 160EUR for Wiesbaden they charge an additional 50EUR if you sign up after 31st December. Remember the race is somewhat mid of August! Insanity! But hey just for the fun of it!
And then there are the other small races which I am looking forward to, Ladenburg, Heidelberg and Viernheim. Great though not open for sing-up yet. And then le grand final in Budapest. Hungary here I come!
Oh by the way did I mention that I did nothing at all this weekend… nothing! Well I promise to get better during the next months.
